Is it normal for a guy to prefer to play female chars in rpgs?

In RPGs and MMOs I always play as a female character. For one, I'd rather look at a female character. Secondly, I love badass women. Thirdly, I like to play through the same sex lesbian romance option. Is this something that's common/normal among male gamers?

  • I have a friend who used to claim that female characters were "0.001% faster then male characters" I just didn't know what to tell him.

But for your story, there's countless guys who do that. Some do it because they love seeing their female character naked or see some ass shaking. Some do it for "phree lewtz" Some just prefer having a female character. Whatever makes you happy I guess. Just don't say what my friend used to say.

Like they say in MMORPG's, girls = guy in real life.

My friend plays as a female blood elf or something on World Of Warcraft as he believes nerds are more likely to offer him gold or assistance. So he feels like it plays to his advantage.
I don't think it's that weird at all! you do what makes you happy.

    I like playing guy characters:)

They almost always seem to have a better style than female ones.

There are some games like KH, where I wish you could play someone else, not just Sora.

I would've loved to play Kairi. You can apparently unlock Xion, though:)

    It's definitely normal:)

    Yes that's perfectly normal.

I remember talking to one man who gamed for a living (he worked for an RPG company). When people asked him why he had a female avatar he said... "I have to look at this 8 hours a day, I might as well stare at something I like seeing"

    =)

This is the same reason I like playing male characters in RPGs. I'm a girl, but I like rugged adventure type video game guys. I do play girl characters every now and then, especially when the male characters look stupid (In some games its so obvious that they put more effort into making female characters than they did making male characters).
