Is it normal for a guy to not want to hang out on his work days?

I went on a date with this guy in the military. We still talk pretty much everyday but he only wants to hang out on the weekends, not the weekdays when he works. I think he may like me, because he did ask me out on a date, and texts/facebooks me a lot, but who knows. Is it normal for a guy to not want to hang out on the days he works, or is he not interested?

    I don't like to go out on weeknights either. The last thing I want to do after getting up early and working 9 hours is go out and entertain someone else. Especially when I have to get up early again the next day. Nights after work are for relaxing at home.

    Maybe his field of work consumes him completely -

    I reckon you should be happy that he's actually willing to give his free time to you. Its usually a good sign during the dating stage.
