Is it normal for a guy to like an anime character?

I've gotten into an anime series (Gurls und Panzer) and I guess I like one of the characters. (Nonna) One of my friends who also watches it was saying that I only liked it because I liked one of the characters, well I like it for other reasons but Nonna is really cool and level-headed so I told him and he says it's not very normal. What do you guys think?

    Well I think is normal to like a show almost strictly off of liking a single or multiple characters of the series or movie you're watching.

    I mean that's kind of the point of why we watch things

    Just like how I don't watch her on her own channel. But I'll watch any video or TV show that puts Grace Helbig on

    Do you mean like, as in you are attracted to / have romantic feelings towards the character?

    Or like as in... You enjoy watching them because they're interesting and entertaining?

    Because the former isn't so normal, the latter is perfectly normal (interesting characters are often essential to hold an audience's attention during a story).
