I realized that I either do a brief hug or posture myself to not make contact with a girl's boobs (i.e. hug forward at a tilted angle).
Don't want her to think I'm some creep copping a feel.

I wasn't sure what the question was, but I voted no, it's not normal to hug like you do. I was once complimented by a few girls and then whored out for my good hugs, because I give a nice fairly tight bear hug, and they were like, usually guys just give a light chest out or one arm side hug and those suck. It depends. If he isn't my type then I make it a quick one so he won't even have to realise that my body even remotely touched his. If I like him then a good bear hug is a must! I don't usually mind my boobs getting pressed against a guy :P
Dude just give her a hug. As long as you don't squeeze her against you she won't think your trying to make a move or whatever. Tilting your body at an angle to stop making contact with her boobs is gonna be more noticeable, and awkward, than just a regular hug.
