Is it normal for a guy to have a dude admirer,

first of all, let me explain what a dude admirer is.
its a guy who likes another guy but does not have any actual feelings for them.

now I'll explain my story.

there's a guy at my young adult church that I go to that follows me around.
I'm a guy as well. see where the term dude admirer comes from. (I made it up. what can I say. I make my own trends.)
any way. he won't leave me alone. every where I go he goes. its kind of annoying.
is this normal

It could be a man crush, or he could be bent for you.

In most cases it's normal. Depending on your charisma, knowledge, age, or personality, there will always be someone who admires you for who you are. I don't see it as a bad thing, more as a compliment. You're what sociologist might call an 'opinion maker' and/or 'charismatic leader', at least for this person.

You should only take actions when the guy becomes obsessive.

If he's younger than you, maybe he looks up to you in a role-model kind of way, and sees you as an older brother. If he's older than you, then maybe he sees you as a younger brother or wants to be friends with you but is too shy to ask.

Every one admires someone. Thats how people become friends, no?

  • He probably thinks you're cool and just wants to be friends really badly.

Ive got one too but gave up trying to shake her off. I even moved, had an unpublished telephone number. BUT, she knew what company i worked for. The phone company was everywhere. First she called the operator, they sent her to human resorces. They refused to give my number but left word for my boss to have me call her.

Maybe you motivate him - maybe he aspires to be like you. I would chat with him about his goals and interests so that you have a better idea. Maybe you can determine a better approach so that he doesnt follow you around so much that you are annoyed.

I had one of these. He used to lie in wait for me on my walk to work and then just talk to me about computers and Chemistry and stuff. When I surreptitiously changed my route, it took him about three days but he found me again. In the end, I just put up with it. It was flattering in a weird kind of way.

  • There was a kid in my school that did this. He would follow me around everywhere, sit where I sat, try to talk to me when I was talking to others. It was really really really weird.

How old is he? Is he younger than you? Try talking to his parents first and if that doesn't work just act like a dunce until he goes away.
