Is it normal for a guy to collect anime figurines?

There's this guy I met a few weeks ago and whom I sort of like. He looks kind of nerdy and is a bit chubby but is still sort of cute and he's very nice and funny. We've had a lot of fun together and I think he sort of likes me too.
We started talking since we're both anime nerds and we share a lot of other interests besides anime as well.

The other day I went to his place, we were gonna place some SSFIV and watch a few shows, and the first thing I noticed when I got there was that he has anime figures everywhere.
I'm not sure what I think about it. I mean I get it in a way (like I said I'm also a nerd) but still...
I really have no idea what to think or do about this.

So I guess the question is: Is it normal for a 25 year old guy to have a collection of almost 40 anime figurines? They were all based on female characters wearing outfits of varying levels of "coverage".

    Totally normal. I mean really if you like a show wouldn't you buy its products? Or hell even people that cosplay they're practically dedicating a small portion of their lives to being that character. Honestly I don't see this as a problem, then again I don't really know the gravity of it all, but I think it's pretty cool. Just think about all the anime merchandise that you probably own.

    It is not common among people who are not interested in anime and manga. But for those who are, it is fairly normal. Many who are interested in collecting don't start because the figures are expensive and require space. It is no different collecting other kinds of art or collectibles, like designer bags, toy cars, shoes, watches, baseball cards.

    Hahahaa that is tooo funny! He's definitely an otaku. I'll tell you what, he probably has those cause he never thought a real girl would enter his room. I'm %100 sure if you show him you're interested in him and mention that those scantily clad girl figurines make you uncomfortable, he'll box them away. Don't write him off for that, I don't think this guy wants to scare you away

    ALL GUYS love sexy girls :

    A lot of (young) guys that can't get laid try to get their hands on playboy or surf the net for porn so they can jerk off to it because males are very visual. So seeing girls sexy bodies makes us horny.

    The guy is probably a virgin so his sexual energy is directed to those sexy cartoon girls because that's what he watches, and yes a lot of them are sexy.

    If you start fucking him and sucking his dick like you want to do, then he'll probably grow up and grow out of that phase because he finally has a real girl.

    If he doesn't, so what?

    Better he jerk off to a fake cartoon girl than a real girl because you've got nothing to worry about the fake girl. She can never steal him away from you.

    You like him and he's a great guy you've said and you've both got a lot in common so go for it.

    I only know one guy in real life that's really into anime and I'm pretty sure dude's a virgin. I think he likes those sexy anime girls also but he doesn't collect the dolls.

    its a bit creepy, I like anime and half Japanese, but I worked in a few basements that were full of these, and it always the creepy pervy figurines and the guy seem a bit off.

    Of course it ISN'T normal, do you really think the average 25 year old guy collects half naked female anime characters? Of course not, but then again, he's an anime fan. Give him a break. I debate people on evolution nearly every day, and I know that isn't normal, either. But I don't question it, because what really is normal nowadays?
