I recently went on a date with a guy to see a movie. We confirmed beforehand it would be a date and that no one else was to be invited, yet when he showed up it was with two of his friends. I don't know what to make of this. Is it normal?
That sounds weird... There are a few possibilities I can think of:
1. He's not ready to date.
2. He's nervous or has a bad memory.
3. His concept of a "date" is very different from your concept.
4. He wants to have a threesome or a moresome.
5. He wants to have an open relationship.

He's probably nervous about it being awkward with just you too and not having anything to talk about or something. His friends are like a safety net for that I'm guessing
For a dude yeah it's normal.
Especially when you're just starting to date.
If it got more serious, he most likely tell his buds to leave, unless you didn't mind the company.
it sounds weird to me.. I'm just wondering why you would have asked that specifically beforehand, about if it was just going to be a date and no one else would be around, because apparently you had some reason to ask? Usually when people make dates they assume it would be one on one.
