Is it normal for a guy to act nervous when he's not interested?

I noticed this cute guy who I wanted to get to know, so I asked him out. He said 'no' but when I see him around he acts all nervous. It's weird 'cause I just left at that, but thought there's no point pretending not to see each other when we pass by. I act normal, just say a simple hello, but he seems to get real nervous. In the reverse situation, I've never felt nervous around a guy I'm not interested in. What's really going on here, ideas?

    When you ask someone out and there's rejection and then you must walk past him everyday. Of course that's normal. Do you think anyone stays friends after a relationship? Hell no. It's impossible to be friends with a past lover. If I were you I would try to not give a damn.

    Maybe he has social anxiety, cause I get nervous around girls I'm not interested
