Is it normal for a girl to prefer dating younger people?

I'm a 24-year-old female. My current boyfriend is 2 years younger than me, my ex was less than a year younger than me and I'm generally not interested in older people for a relationship (as far as I can tell).

I did have a "boyfriend" who was 3 years older than me when I was 16, but that was just to see what it was like being in a relationship full stop and it only lasted a couple of months.

I don't know why, but I feel a bit grossed out when I hear about women who are going out with older boys (Up to 10 years older), even if the relationship is a great one.

It goes without saying that an age gap of more than 10 is really gross to me.

    I myself tend to fall for cute guys over the hot ones. It just happens that the majority of cute guys are younger than me. One of my friends keeps teasing me, saying that I'm a pedo because of this. Which I'm not. But among my friends, I think I'm the only one who finds this whole dating a younger guy acceptable. Not sure about the age gap though.

    I hate how there are stupid names for either way you date like 'cougar' and 'panther'. Why can't you like whoever the fuck you like without being labelled?

      That's a good point. People come up with labels for everything. I agree that people should date who they want.

      I don't think the label really applies for someone one or two years older, though.

        My two cents. I feel a person who has a strong attraction for another person that may be older or young, it shouldn't matter if it is within the law. My wife is 11 years younger than I, my friends wife is 25 years differnce.
        All of us get along fine without numbers being thrown at us. We know other couples where the man is almost 35 years older than his spouse but they both show very strong affections for each other. I agree with the girl, if she desires a younger man, within the law, than leave it be.......

          I think a 10-year gap is still considered normal to most people. I think they only get weird about it when the woman is older than the man, but I don't know why that should matter.

    I've prefered women older than me for quite a while now. The plus is they've been around the block more and know what they want.

    I like younger too.
    Then again, i'm mostly a lesbian.

    Now, i prefer them still in the closet or freshly out. After they fully "discover" this new world, they are often more playful then i'd prefer.

      I haven't had enough experience of women to say whether how I like them from that respect, but I'm hoping to do some finding out when I'm single.

      whats not normal is that u shouldnt be disgusted by younger girl/older man relationships....cuz for me, i only date older men, and i dont think dating younger men is abnormal and ive never called anyone cougar for doing that
