Is it normal for a girl to have such an abusive boyfriend?

Ok so I am 18 and I met an awesome girl who lives somewhat far but I can visit her. Anway one day I found out that she wasn't friends with me on facebook anymore and I got worried because I thought I did something wrong. So I call her on her cell phone. She answers the phone, I said hey! and she said hey but she was crying. I said whats wrong? She said that her boyfriend made her delete all of her friends on facebook and on her phone, etc. I also heard him yelling at her in the background. She was being hit by her boyfriend too. I was trying to get him to stop but I was on the phone and I think he ended up breaking her phone because something happened during the call. I figure I had to do something but I didn't know what to do. This happened this very day and it might still be going on! I think I should go to her. I can't stand when a girl is being abused. She is beautiful, nice, sweet, and awesome. I don't know why she would be abused. What should I do? Is this normal?

    i would talk to her face-to-face, privately, and let her know that he is being overly possessive and that she deserves better. if she isn't willing to do anything about her situation, unfortunately, there is not much you can do unless you see him hitting her. then you can call the cops.

    ive been in a 2 yr abusive relationship with my babys dad. seems like it never stops..hes 23 and im 26..we arent together anymore it took me a long time to realize that shouldnt happen. hes now with a girl whos 30 and he hits her too. she prob. wont listen but never stop being her friend she needs all the support she can

    Help the girl because heck no it isn't normal and she seems to be suffering a lot.
    Go there if you know where she lives.

    But be careful because he might be dangerous.
    Try to have some time alone with her if possible so she can tell you everything is happening or call the police.

    This just disgusts me.. You have a good heart but just call the police it would be horrible to get involved physically you could be hurt..

    It sounds like she's getting abused and no one should ever raise their hand to their partner. They should resolve things through words.

    But let's look at why he's being an angry tool, shall we? She's talking to another boy online, and most likely, you're probably not the only one she's talking to. He probably found this out and is angry at her. He may be right in being upset, but still, violence is never the solution.

    Call the cops in her area and ask them to do a welfare check on her.

    Why do you think he was hitting her? It seems unlikely hed do that when she was on the phone with someone overhearing. Maybe they were just having a screaming argument. Maybe she cheated so he made her delete her facebook. Dont rush in there making guesses just cuz you fancy her.

    If you are 100 percent sure he was hitting her, then talk to her. There is no point calling the police if she wont press charges.
