I have wondered if this is to do with your vagina being empty. I find vaginal orgasms are satisfying but they always feel a bit muffled because you can't completely contract when there's a penis stuffed in there taking up all the space. If he's gone in the back door and the vagina is empty then this leaves plenty of flex for you to contract fully during orgasm so it feels more intense.
That could be utter bullshit but it's certainly how it feels to me.
