I'm a girl and I feel like most girls can't wait to be with that special person for the rest of their lives but personally it freaks me out like my life will be over.
Which part of your life will be over? The fun social part where you go out and meet different guys and get to keep trying new flavors of ice cream? The part that includes not worrying about how your actions may directly impact someone else (like your significant other) ? The freedom to come and go as you please and incorperate consideration into your thought processes? The part of your life that includes finding the next bigger and better thing, like maybe the next guy will be hotter, make more money, be more exciting or better in the sack? ...If any of these are among your worries, you are with the right guy for the wrong reasons. (Right because a smart girl like you wouldnt date the wrong guy in the first place, right?) Otherwise, its perfectly normal wonder if the things you put up with from your partner now wont eventually end your relationship, when the things you like about your partner are eventually taken for granted.
You don't need to feel anxiety about marriage. As long as you get married to a decent guy who will treat you right then it's a wonderful thing. I myself can't wait to marry my man <3 Just because you get married doesn't mean everything changes for the bad. It shouldn't change your relationship at all except for the fact that you finally took a big step in your relationship to show that you want to love your partner for the rest of your life and share the rest of your life with them.
Marriage is a huge step. I think when you've actually found the right man for you and you've been dating them for at least 2 years, its not so scary.
I'm on my second marriage. The first time around, it did feel like my life was over.
This time, I'm learning what living really means and how wonderful it can be.
