I'm 18 years old and very open minded. I go to fashion school in New York City and have always had friends who were gay. Earlier this year I made friends with a guy who was nearly 30. He is a fashion major as well. I have always hated girls who think they can "change" or "turn" a guy straight. Any way, me and my friend were very close and started off hugging and kissing on the cheek. Then he started coming over to my dorm and cuddling with me and soon we started kissing full on. I just saw it as friends who were bored. I didn't get anything out of it, not really. I hook up with guys all the time and am not romantically involved with. My friend is sexy, but I never thought of him in a sexual regard because he is gay. Then the other day he asks me if I want to have sex with him and I was like why not? It's just fun and no one is getting hurt. Then yesterday he tells me he is in love with me. But he says he is gay. Is this normal? I can't believe it. I'm not in love with him, because I know he is gay and I just am not romantically inclined to someone who I know from the get go is off limits. But because of his age I have to wonder is this normal for people? To fall in love with someone who you don't identify as having sexual feelings for?

    he doesn't live in west virginia does he? tell him how you feel for real and be honest with him..beware if he's both ways and you hook up with him you have both sexes to watch out for.. besides aids

    According to the Kinsey sex research institute, only a very small percentage of the population is decidedly straight or decidedly gay. Most of us fall somewhere on the spectrum between the two extremes; we may have a strong preference for one or the other, but it's not impossible for us to be attracted to the other side. Maybe this is one of those cases?

    You're a girl, I can deduct that.

    And maybe he really does love you. Or maybe he never was gay.
    In case he wasn't, he is not a person to be trusted anymore.
    If he comes out honest, then okay, maybe.

    Also get a background check on him. Like how many boyfriends he's had. Does he do the gay things? (I don't know if there are any.)

    LOL I couldn't tell if you are a guy or a girl..

    But yeah, Gays can fall in love with girls, it's not a biggy. You love a person, not a sexual desire. But those can lead to one another though..

    Will the word 'Fancy' only be used in a gay related question? Why? WHHHHHHYYY??? lmao I myself would never fancy a man that has had a penis in or around his butthole. But It sounds like he is more Bi than gay if he could actually get it up with a girl. The gay guys i know would be like, "I'm prettier than her, I want a MAN!" Either that or you assumed he was just gay and in fact he's not. Remember: just because they work in fashion does not mean they are up for man-on-man passion. lol

    Maybe he made the gay thing up to spend time with you and stuff? I don't know... but they generally don't call themselves gay and say they are in love with a female. Unless he changed his mind. IDK?

    I think most people have some level of attraction for women. I believe there is a hormone/chemical that is released that makes you attracted to men, which straight men and gay women lack. However, there is no real hormone that makes you attracted to women. It happens naturally. Now, I don't know how accurate this information is, because I heard it several years ago.

    Also, many gay men can have sex with women simply because of the biology of it. There are a lot of gay guys out there who want families, and marry women to have children. This isn't to say they aren't attracted to them, or that they don't like them as people (they kind of have to). It's more of a semi-platonic partnership, though.
