Is it normal for a friendship like this to last forever?

I have 2 really close best friends and one of them is going away to another country and since she have no relatives or close family here so she is never coming back and our families won't allow us to travel alone to her or my country unless it is a really important event. And the nearest time to meet each other is an engagment party to any of the three of us. Can this friendship last forever and more importantly will it stay the same even if we won't meet each other?

One of my favorite friends in the world lives 10 hours away, by car. I haven't seen her in 3 years and only talk to her a few times a year. But I know when I do see her it will feel like no time has passed. These friends are rare but I will take friends however I can get them.

Thanks to the Internet you can still be friends forever without actually having to hang out together in person

Is there anyway to stop that from happening?

Friendships will naturally grow apart sometimes. I have a best friend I don't see anymore, and we still live in the same town. Only difference is I'm married, and she isn't. Your lives are on different tracks, but keep in touch! That's the most important thing.
