Is it normal for a friend who writes all day everyday to just vanish?

Ok been talking daily as friends for a few months everyday then the person vanishes mid conversation for a day and a half?
Do I just figure the person doesn't want to talk anymore or do I worry about them? If I wasn't used to talking all day daily i would figure they are busy but since that's what we have been doing I'm worried?

    Your friend probably has a genetic condition which causes him to spontaneously combust then reconfigure days later.

    The person could've went on a trip, been in an accident, not interested in speaking...best to ask him/her if they're ok and if they don't want to talk anymore to let you know at least.

    Thanks everyone yes I finally heard from him it's ok. Car troubles and such involved I am so glad he wrote back. I enjoy our friendship.

    It could be many things. Don't get worked up. Just call them and talk to them, and then you would know what happened.
