Is it normal for a friend to have such bad foot odor, and to like it?

My friend has really bad foot odor. He's a surprisingly very clean person, but he has this sweating condition which makes his feet really smelly. Ironically he works in a steaming hot kitchen, and it's especially bad on those days. He doesn't drive, and the quickest way for him to get home is by bus. There are some days where the kitchen is so hot that when he gets on the bus, he would take off his shoes to air out his feet. His foot odor is so bad that when he takes off his shoes on the bus, the people around him would start saying things like, " fuckin smelly ", and so forth. In spite of this, he actually ENJOYS his foot odor. He told me that it's something that'll never get better, and that he came to accept and like the dirty smell. I know feet are notorious for smelling bad, but is it normal to have foot odor this bad and to like it as well?
