My friend knew I liked this man and she knew that we were in the "flirtationship" phase of a relationship.
When I was on vacation, she didn't tell me anything and got into a relationship with him. She later told me "Oh. I liked him before you. It was just on and off, so I didn't tell you."

After being on IIN for some time now, I'm beginning to believe that few people understand the meaning of the word friend. Most of us have many acquaintances and some companions, buddies, pals and associates, but throw around the word friend top cover them all. But in reality, one usually has few friends; long lasting, deep friendships are rare and valuable.
It happens but this is one of of those that asks "Is it right?" because no it's not right. What she could've done is told you if it mattered to her or that she found someone else because how important was having this particular guy to her versus your friendship? Sorry it happened, but perhaps he wasn't good for you if he quickly went with your friend. He was flirting around with you both which was wrong of him. Keep your friends if you trust them and are special to you and screw the people that come in between.
If she did get together with you she would cheat so its better that you avoided it.
