Is it normal for a friend to compare you with their partner?

I have a close friend who says I'm very similar to their significant other. Is this normal?

My best friend used to say this to me about her ex, as we seemed to be like peas in a pod: same sense of humour, shockingly sarcastic, similar interests etc...

I don't think she liked it to be honest; probably unnerved her a bit, but that's just her suspicious nature.

Don't worry about it, if anything they must like certain qualities you have, since they're happy with a significant other who shares them! :)

  • Maybe he just wants you to know that you resemble someone he loves. I mean that he probably cares about you the same way he cares about his partner.

It depends on the cause for the comparison. Comparing things like certain personality qualities or a few physical similarities it's fine. But, if it's like "Your lips are so sexy, just like my partner's" then your friend has a problem.
