Is it normal for a father to comment on teenage daughters friend size?

My husband and I are the parents of a 14 year old daughter. While doing laundry and getting rid of clothes that were no longer wanted recently, my daughter said she didn't want to keep a sports bra. As I folded it and added it to a pile of give-aways, I said maybe Taylor (my daughters 14 year old best friend) would want this. And out of the blue, my husband says 'Oh that will never fit Taylor, she's got way bigger breasts than that. I was shocked. Later we fought about it, he doesn't agree with me that he shouldn't be looking at her breasts. Was this inappropriate of my husband?

He was just stating a matter of fact. The bra probably WOULN'T have fit her, because her breasts WERE IN FACT bigger.

I think you're crazy to get all bent out of shape here.

      Well said.

  • I think you are seriously over reacting. He made a factual statement, there's nothing perverted about it.
I feel sorry for your husband for having to deal with your illogical reaction.

I think that noticing is different from fixating upon. As long as he only notices the size and doesn't fixate on it I don't see a problem.

From the way you've described it, it was something he could have avoided saying. A smarter man may have *thought* it but feigned ignorance.

Honestly, there's probably lots more going on here that's got you pissed off. This alone couldn't be that big of a deal. Maybe it was a reason for you to bring up a more general problem.

Why do you think that they are poking out in the front. You are supposed to look at them.

No. He's just looking at nice breastfeeding. Even though she's young it's not illegal to look but did he ever do more a lot more

So, could you describe those breasts of your daughter's friend?

He was just saying what he thought. Why did you have to argue? It doesn't take rocket science to figure out that a small bra won't fit large breasts. One look is enough.
You act as if he stares at some girl's tits all day.
But from the post - I don't think he does.

You should go and appologize to your husband. You over reacted way too much.

It's not exactly "out of the blue" if you brought up the topic, is it?

No. noticing the size of a girl's breasts does not mean he's doing anything with them.

what's he suppose to do? cast a magic spell on his eyes so all girls look flat-chested?

i always find it interesting when women expect men to be around women but ... if they dare even look at one of them he's suddenly in the wrong.
