Is it normal for a dad to dislike things because his kid likes it?
My dad and I have some tastes that are alike. I don't mind this, but it really seems to bother him. For example, he'll say that a band is really good, and rave about how amazing it is (same with movies, books, anything else). However, if I say that I like it too, he immediately starts to talk about how it really isn't that good, and then he won't like whatever it is anymore. I've tried to talk to him about it, but he always denies that he said he liked whatever, and then goes off about how my tastes suck. It's like he has some unconscious rule or something that dads can't like the same things their daughters do.
