Is it normal for a college guy to be hanging out with high schoolers?

I am 19 female and am currently attending a local community college. My guy friend who just turned 20 graduated high school the same year as I did. We see each other all the time at school because we are both taking classes at the same college.

He and I live in a small town not too far from the school. Almost everyday after school he would pay a visit to our old high school. He would go there and hang out with the friends that he has that are still in high school. They are usually juniors and seniors, but lately he has been meeting more freshmen and sophomores. He would go out with them to the malls and act like he is their age. He also checks out girls who are still in high school.

His main friends are all in high school. He rarely hangs out with me and our friends because most of the time he is with these high schoolers.

It all Depends on how close in age they are. If it's a 19- or 20-year-old going to the occasional football or basketball game and catching up with their old friends, sure, why not. If it's a 29-year-old parking his "boss hot rod" in the student parking lot and trying to chat up young high school girls by offering them smokes and a drink or showing up at high school dances...um....NO!
And this behavior seems to be more common in small, cliquish towns vs a big, anonymous city.

Depends on how much does it stands, if he is there playing karaokes, it is bad, but when he just pays a visit and plays there for ... 19 mins, its fine. But as you say he has almost only high-school friends, that is getting weird, a bit NOT normal

    He's afraid to grow up.
I would confront him about this because it could become a fairly serious problem.

I know a who used to be like this years ago. Now he's almost 30 and still
hangs out with and dates 18, 19 year olds. He doesn't want to grow up. We used to just laugh about it, but now it's kinda weird and sad.

No, it's not normal. He needs to hang out with people his own age.
