Is it normal for a band-aid to remove some of your flesh?

I few moments ago, I was removing fabric band-aids of my fingers. However, on the last finger when I was taking of the remaining bit of band-aid, I felt a horrible pain.

This really confused me because, there was no hair on that part of my finger to cause such pain.

When I took it off completely, I inspected my finger and saw to my horror, that a bit of my flesh had been ripped off!

I have used this type of band-aid before and never has it ever ripped off some of my flesh!!! Is this normal?!

Ha thats nothing! If you want something that will really rip your flesh off, try gorilla tape... The bandaid though, it really depends on how long you leave it on. The adhesive will start to bond with the skin a little bit, hence the flesh ripping.

    • Well, I did wash my hands in those band-aids a few times. Wouldn't that have lessened the strength of the adhesive?

I dont really know. Ive had bandaids that pealed right off but the adhesive was still on my finger and when i pulled the adhesive off it took the skin with it.
