Spending time with your father is normal, and it is good. If your friends or kids from school see you and say you're lame or something, ignore them. They are probably jealous that you have a better relationship with your parents than they do with theirs. Ignore the comments that say it's creepy, it is just fine.
I have a good relationship with my parents, we go out to dinner, see movies, go shopping... It's healthy for your family to interact with each other more than just having to live with them. It's normal.
I'd love for my Dad to quit fucking strange women and take me to see a movie.
Then again my Dad spends most of his time stealing people's identities and fucking strange women.
Dont worry about what other kids think, friends come and go but your Dad will always be your dad. Really nice of your dad to take you to the movies.
My dad is so cool, we go to the planetarium together. It's totally normal!
I'm 18 and I still like spending time with my dad every once in a while. You're never too old to bond with your family members.
Yeah, why not? I go to the cinema with friends usually, but every now and then I'll go with my family. It's a perfectly normal activity. Don't feel like it's uncool or abnormal to do so, it's probably a sign of a healthy relationship with your father :)
People probably will bully you about it but to be honest it's good that in your teens you still have a good relationship with your dad, most teens just want to get away from their parents which is understandable but still good relationships need to be kept. Aslong as it's not a case of you can only go with him and that you do go with friends instead then that sounds like a pretty healthy lifestyle to me. I wish I had more respect for my mum back in my early teens. I'm 19 now so it's good I realised this now I guess lol.
It's not typical. But, if you really enjoy spending time with your father like that, then do it. Later on, which are you MOST likely to regret? going to a few movies with your dad? or thinking back and wishing you had spent more time with him?
of course it's normal-you're in that awkward stage where you feel you should be independent from your parents, but you really are still a kid.
maybe at 20 some might not see it as normal but I don't really see anything wrong with it.
I'm 20 and I go to the movies with my mum whenever there's something showing that we both like.
The thing is I don't have many friends and I don't want anyone who might, in the future, be my friend or more thinking i'm weird and excluding me.
Why wouldn't it be normal? It would be abnormal if the two of you went to see an R/X-rated film, with sex scenes in it.
