Is it normal for a 21 year old to date a freshly turned 17 year old?

Ok, I'm 21 and there's this newer girl who just got hired in where I work who happens to be 17 as of like a week ago. I believe her parents are fine with it as we've hung out a few times, but everyone at work is making fun of me and talking shit about the situation. I'm just wondering if this age gap is normal. I realize its only a 4 year age gap but its more about her being under 18 while I'm already 21

    I was 14 when I first started dating my boyfriend who was 19 at the time. Perfectly normal. We had a nice year together then broke up, but got back together when I was 18, been together for 4 years now. :D
