Is it normal for a 20 year old to date a 17 year old girl in uk?

Well, im 20 years old and the girl im interested in is 17 years old and I have known her since she was 15 just turning 16 so about 1.5 years now.
At first I had no interest what so ever, even though I knew she was pretty, but as time has gone on I have taken more interest and actually like her now but I am concerned with the age - she is 3 years younger and is in 1st year of college where im in the 2nd year of uni, its my sisters best friend and has been coming to our house for ages now and she fancies me badly ever since the start - Shall I make a move for her or just leave it? Im not exactly some saddo I have girls my age but this girl is special to me now for some reason i cannot explain... AM I NORMAL! :(

Girls don't magically become hot at 18. I know that's what the puritanical retards that pose as our moral leaders would suggest. You're completely normal and just doing what biology is telling you is right.

3 years no big deal but if you were 30 there's a big deal

That's really not that bad of an age difference. I'm American and I don't know what the age of consent is in the UK....but who cares really? That probably sounds like bad advice, but I mean the girl is 17. She's old enough to know what she wants. I say go for it.

Just make passionate love to her and see both of your reactions afterwards. If it feels awkward, then leave her and never mention it again. If you feel comfortable about things, then just leave her anyway. Girls love a guy thats hard to get.

thats def. normal. i am 17 almost 18 and my boyfriend is 43!!!! just do the math? thats a 25 years difference! age is really not a big deal when the two persons involved in the relationship are decided to actually have a serious relationship. so just talk to her and see if she is willing :)

She's of-age and a three year age gap isn't too big. Go for it.

The legal age of Britain is 16 so, she's of age. The age difference isn't that great either. It's normal.

It's completely normal. Three years is not that bad. My boyfriend is twenty three and I am eighteen. So not bad.

    It's legal, so I don't see a problem.

  • Its normal, me and my boyfriend began being together when he was 20 and I was just about to turn 18, everything worked out great! so 2-3 years difference isn't such a big deal, but 25 years difference is for sure.

thats really not a bad age difference. i went through the same thing with my brother and one of my close friends, if you both like each other than go for it, go on a couple of dates and see what happens from there. But it might not work out so things at your house could get awkward as your sister and her are still going to want to be friends :)
