I'm 21, girlfriend's 16... I love her, and despite what people think, it's not about sex. At all. We haven't even gone close because... well... we aren't that stupid... Neither of us have had sex, and I'm pretty sure she loves me like I love her. Right or wrong...?
I went out with a 16 year old when I was 24. She was introduced to me as "a junior" at a party by her cousin who was a friend of mine. At first meeting I assumed she was a junior in college, thinking her 19-20. She acted very mature (she was from eastern Europe) and we hit it off great. So we found a quiet corner, did a little kissing, then up to a spare bedroom and for some really good sex. I found out her age later that night from my friend, who was actually a lot less pissed about it than you would think. We really liked each other (she had an incredible accent!) and started seeing each other, just keeping the public stuff low key and sex at my friend/her cousin's place. Nothing seemed too odd about it (other than not being able to meet people at bars). We didn't so much break up as she moved when her parents came to the U.S. and we just became apart.
Laws can make life unnecessarily sticky if you let them. Don't forget that Shakespeare's Juliet was only 14 and seemed pretty mature to me.
It is odd that she's your girlfriend and you haven't had sex.
It's looked down on because it's kind of pathetic that you have to go that low to get a girl.
at 16, you're still maturing. and at that age, you really don't have the same...or developed sense of judgement as an adult. believe or not. i'm not accusing you of anything, love is a blind thing, but honestly, i'd stay away from her if i were you. if ever you do fuck, and then split up, and she accuses you of statutory rape, then what? unless the law in your area allows it, ok, but you know. think about it though... with your brain!
Hey man. I was 16 and dating a 21 year old - there is nothing wrong with it. A lot of people think it's disgusting.. but the only reason is because of the ages you're at NOW. If you think about it, what 21 year old would want to do 16 year old girl things? And what 16 year old girl does 21 year old guy things?
BUT. There are the few people that ARE like that, like I was with my boyfriend, and like you are with your girlfriend. And it works out amazingly and you're happy, so who cares about the age difference!
For all of you people who are looking down apon this, ask your parents/friends parents/grandparents how many years apart they are.

I think its normal. Wen i was 14 my boyfriend was 20. We never had sex until i was 18 ( that was wen we got married). I love him and i want to be with him forever.
In the U.K it would be legal since 16 is the age of consent but I see nothing wrong with this relationship. There's only five years between you both, so when you're 25, she'll be 20.

I don't know the laws or ages in other places though or where you live. But I see nothing wrong, if you have good intentions towards her.
Depends where you live. 16 is legal in some countries but illegal in some, I think it's illegal to get intimate with some one under 18. Not sure though,it's not much of a difference, If its who you love then it's who you love. :)
Someone once said about such a situation... If the boy has to date a girl so young, it's because the girl his age know there is something wrong with him.
There are too many developmental differences, intellectually speaking. Then there are all sorts of legal issues if you don't behave yourself. This is her emotional and mental welfare and your entire future at stake.
As a parent, I wouldn't allow it regardless of which side of that fence my child was on.

I think everyone needs to chill. I'm not saying much , but there are 11 years between my boyfriend and myself. it's all about growing up anyways. you're allowed to make mistakes. everyone else , shut the fuck up. good for you , kid.
As long as you wait to have sex til she's 18 its ok. But you should talk to her parents cause if they find out they might get pissed and call the cops on you

I was 20 and my boyfriend (now husband) was 33 when we fell in love. Now I'm almost 25, happily married and I never minded one second because he's 13 years older than me.
