Is it normal for a 19 year old guy to talk to a 16 year old girl?

I just recently turned 19 and have for the past two weeks been talking to a friend of mine I've known for a year or so who just recently turned 16. I have attraction toward her because of her personality and that we have very similar interests. I think she might find attraction towards me as well. So do you think it's okay for us to talk? The age difference isn't huge but I still think it could be seen as not ok. What do you think?
