My best friend is telling me that my 27 year old boyfriend is too old for me and I should date someone my age. Me and him are so in love and happy, neither of us could imagine living without each other. Is it normal for us to be together with our age difference though because everyone I end up telling ends up judging me for it and saying he's a pedophile who just wants sex. I know that's not true though because none of his past partners were as young as me and I can tell he genuinely loves me we just have that connection but no one believes me.

    My dad is 12 years older than my step mom and my mum is 16 years younger than my step dad. I think they've all chosen the people that make them happiest. I believe that is the goal in most relationships.

    People are way too picky about age these days. Nobody in your relationship is elderly. Nobody in your relationship is a child. Everyone needs to chill out.

    A pedophile is someone who is into prepubescent children, generally 12 and under, so that is nonsense.

    You are both adults. Who is to say if your relationship, or anyone else's, will work in the long run. But if you are both happy, that is all that matters. Other people need to mind their own business.

    I don't know, he might be too young for you. My wife is a few years younger still than you two, and we are having a grand time together.
    Age shouldn't have anything to do with who you care for. Tell your friend to back off; you've heard her opinion and that's all she gets to say.

    I used to routinely date guys who were about 10 years my junior. I'm not interested in anyone more than five years older than me or seven years younger right now though.

    if there is one thing i learned is, age isn't a personality, and it is possible to be in love at the age differences you are. as long as you're happy, isn't that enough? you can do everything right, and be with someone closer to your own age and still someone will judge you. so be happy, some people will always try to make you feel bad or something isn't going to work. the age is legal.
