Is it normal? fallen for a friends ex?

Well I've been liking this boy for what seems like forever and at first we were gonna talk but as soon as it was getting closer my bestfriend decided to tell me that she likes him(this was before we were bestfriends and I really didn't like her much) but then they start to talk and then go together but the entire time they were going together he would always tell me how much he doesn't like her and he would make passes at me. But I've always new he liked me because he would just do certain things(girls know)and (I guess they still talked or whatever and he called me and my bestfriend cussed me out for talking to him)but the bottom line is they don't go together anymore and I still like want him..What should I do?

    Normal.

    If you really think she's your friend, don't hurt her by taking her ex.

    If she isn't a good friend, I guess you can if you don't care how she feels in the end.
