    I always thought that the supermarket eggs were hen-houses only...therefor producing only nonfertilized eggs..
    But one time I cracked open an egg and it was full of a bloody substance and had what I can only describe as a tiny chicken fetus in it.
    ...so now I have this fear, too. Even though this happened 5-10 years ago, I still expect to see that again every time I crack an egg.

      That bloody little something you are describing is nothing more than bits of stomach lining that sometimes gets trapped during the creation of the egg and totally harmless. Its quite normal and not a fetus.

    You know what white thing in that egg? That's the Umbilical cord. :)

    On the news I heard about a boy who found a baby chick had hatched out of one of his supermarket eggs. LOL :P

    The eggs dont have anything because on egg farms they dont have roosters.. roosters+chickens= fetus eggs. :P Blah.

      Like mumbie55 said, if the rooster isn't on the farm, then all of the eggs are "blanks". Also, during the egg collecting process they illuminate the egg with a light to make sure the egg is pure. I have more of a fear of dropping eggshell in my food. :-P

    Oh my good i always worry about this too since i seen it in a movie i think it was jawbreaker, especially organic eggs haha i thought i was the only one i use to never eat them now i quite enjoy them.

    i love eggs, but when you think about it, they are gross. the eggs from the grocery are sterile, so don't worry, it will never happen.
