Is it normal don't understand...

I don't get how people get up early for work every morning! Whenever I'm scheduled to work early shifts I get soo tired. I always have to take naps afterwards which leaves no time to do anything else. Idk how my mom can get up at five thirty am, work, come home and still have energy to do things. When I was in high school it was hell and struggled to stay up during classes! I go to night school now and love it. When the alarm goes off and it's still early I wanna shoot myself!!

I agree with luke...there are some who like the early shift, others prefer the night, and still others the graveyard shift...I would prefer my workday to finish early in the day, so the rest of it is mine to do as I choose or need. I hate to wake up and realize that most of my day's work is to be done much later...it makes me feel that I'm saving my time for the day's work, rather than for more enjoyable endeavors.

Everyone has their own sleep schedule that works best for them. I'm the same way about early mornings. My brain really doesn't start functioning until 11 am. Find a job that allows you to utilize your sleep habits

I have to get up at 6am every friggin day... well Mon-Fri. I hate it. I am ALWAYS exhausted. People are like, "your body will get used to it. You have to train yourself." Well guess what? I've been working Mon-Fri 8-5 jobs for well over 6 years (before that, I worked shiftwork). And guess what? I STILL wake up tired every friggin morning!!! I don't think my body will EVER get used to it!! :(

...You're not giving me a full story...What time are you going to bed?? Can and/or do you sleep well?? I know many people (especially the young "indestructible" ones) who think they can work early, not get a nap, party until the wee hours, then go to work and feel just fine...that is just not how the body works...it requires rest (even GOD rested on the 7th day, for crying out loud...if HE needed rest, I certainly need it...). However, it could be that your "body cycle" could have an issue with it...

  • I worked shiftwork for many years for the same reason. I have been working day shift now for a few years. I still hate getting up early but working dayshift i have noticed a great improvement in my general health. Id say if you have to work early shifts give it a good go for a while and youll get used to it in time it took me a while.
