Is it normal dad's friend constantly calls?

My dad has this friend who is constantly calling the house. Its like he knows exactly when my dad is at home and at work. According to my mom, he calls him at work as well. I was over there last night and as soon as i hear my dad pull into the driveway, i heard that phone ring nonstop. How he knew the moment he pulls into the driveway i have no clue. When my dad isnt home when he usually is, its nonstop ringing. The thing is i kind of feel sorry for this guy, he has never been married, no kids and i believe he had wanted that at one point but he has a lot of problems including he is very cheap (wouldnt even buy this one woman a slice of pizza) even though he is financially well off. Once he even went on a cruise with my parents and was so cheap he slept in their room on the tiny couch. I know for a fact it isnt normal for a full grown man to share a room with a 50 something year old married couple. Also his mother is still alive and very controlling towards him saying he can't date a woman of a different race.

    I don't think its normal for a person to call like that. You should get your number changed or tell him not to call so much if it gets too annoying.

    It could be coincidence that he calls every time your dad pulls into the driveway. But then again, maybe the guy has became attached your father and sees him as a really good friend. the guy could also just be bored too.

    As for him sleeping on the couch during that cruise, you'd be surprise what cheapskates will do, no matter how degrading or embarrassing it may seem, if a very very cheap person can save a dime they will do it lol.

    Yup well thats how he is, a penny pincher. He even constantly emails my father real estate listings for homes in florida in hopes that my father will buy one then he will have a place to crash when he goes to florida (at least this is why my mom thinks he does it and we all agree).
