Is it normal coffee changes your personality alot

I don't just mean slighlty 'on edge' or whatever after strong coffee, but like a change in personality to become more egocentric and goal driven. Has anyone notice how much their personality changes after coffee?

I think personality runs deeper than being motivated or not, maybe you've gotten very used to a version of yourself that isn't goal oriented and with coffee you have much more energy to do these things? The egocentric part I don't understand, could be just that the feeling of being more alive makes you feel like you matter more and your egocentricity is a way of protecting that feeling, or just your well being which maybe wasn't as important as before. I'm totally taking a giant stab in the dark here. But it's like the person I am when I'm happy, seems like a totally different person except for the fact that my deeper goals, my morals, have not changed. I am just stronger.

Let me know if I make a good point or if I'm just a blathering idiot :D

When I wake up I'm in a bad mood till I have my coffee then I feel calm and relaxed but then I have another cup of coffee and start to get hyper , later I get tired and have another coffee and I'm happy again ....... I just decided to not finish this story boring and not necessary .

I guess it's normal because coffee makes you feel more alert
and energized, so you feel more lively and positive.

I think I kind of understand what you mean about coffee
changes personality, I think it's a sort of high half caused by caffeine and half caused by our own association of your spirited self with coffee.

I drink coffee every day and I don't feel any different from it. I do get a little nauseous for some reason though.

Only 'side effect' I get from coffee is that it helps my migraines (even if I don't use it to take painkillers) which is kinda unusual, seeing as I no longer have as bad a coffee habit as I used to.

I know every-time I have very strong coffee I usually feel like my head might explode or that I might throw up. Not very pleasant and why I don't drink coffee. Soda seems to be fine though. Not sure why this is. I do like bold coffee though. I also love eating chocolate coffee beans.

Not for me. But then again, I rarely drink coffee; I save it for the worst kind of all-nighters.

I'm not used to it so, when I drink a glass, I can't sleep.

I've noticed that most of the things I like to eat, taste better when I'm drinking coffee. But I haven't noticed a change in my personality. Perhaps I don't drink enough for it to affect me such. I mostly drink instant without sugar and milk.

Some brands of coffee will give me nightmares if I drink them.

My personality changes quite often, and I don't drink coffee. So, I really don't know.

So why would you post to this thread if you don't know and don't drink coffee?
      Strange.....
