Is it normal chasing after the wrong people

I realized a lot of times I'm interested in people that don't see me as their type. I can't think of one time I was actually with someone that described me as their type. I'm down to earth, easy going, somewhat geeky, etc. But it seems all the guys I've been into are into these types of girls: dressing up like "skanks" or can afford to dress up all the time like that, party girls, hipster/tattoo girls, artsy, etc. lol It just sounds pretty pathetic, I don't fit in any of those categories and I prefer to have clean skin, dress casually/comfortably and I don't like to exaggerate too much on vanity like taking 50 pictures of myself..showing the whole world. And when I like someone it is not because of their style, money or their outward appearance it has to be mostly their personality and they have attracted me by that for the most part. Is it normal I get stuck chasing after the wrong people?

And to clarify on some assumptions I'm going to hear lol: No they aren't douchebags. I'm not ugly/undesirable looking, aside from maybe my casual style? lol And no I am not easy or a doormat.

Sounds like the guys you like are playing the field and not choosing a girl to settle down with.

But.... when they are older (and you are too) it's not the skanks they want to marry.

You will meet Mr Right soon.

I think that you should hang around guys you wouldn't normally notice. Try meeting people at a library or a place that interests you, that way you'll have something in common with every man in the room.

  • As a guy who is with someone I often look at girls who flaunt it/show off etc and look and dress completely different to my girlfriend, am I attracted to them? Sexually yes, I've tried to fight it, perhaps it's more hormones or perhaps I'm just a very sexual person however I've never cheated and these girls will never be my girlfriend. It's in a guys nature to 'spread his seed' around with many different 'mates' it's an animal instinct in all guys, whereas females natural instinct is to nurture children and keep her 'mate' around. People often forget that we are just glorified animals and a lot of what we do boils down to the basics of natural instinct. It's our intelligence that tells us whether we fight it or embrace it.

It seems that you are a bit shy, maybe try to express yourself more freely and some guy for sure will notice it.

    Don't try to become a party-slutty girl
