Is it normal-care package to non-deployed soldier?

Hey guys! I have a boyfriend who's in the army and I really want to surprise him with sending a care package. Luckily he's not deployed anywhere but he's stationed a few hours away from me. Being new at this, I looked up some tutorials and tips but they're all for soldiers who are deployed already. is it normal to send a care package to a soldier who is NOT deployed? I'm not sure of its pretty common for a soldier to receive a care package on their home base. If I do, I don't want to look dumb or have his friends think its weird or something. Please feel free to include tips & tricks. Thanks :)

In WW1 they used to send them Heroin.

And now they send them straight to the source.

Uhh, it is kind of weird. Care packages, by nature, are full of necessities and comforts that a soldier can't get a hold of for whatever reason (deployment, training etc.). That's like... That's what they are for. You wouldn't be sending him a care package, you'd be sending him a gift.

Nobody would think it weird for a guy to get a box of cookies and love notes or whatever from his woman. But a care package is, by nature, what I described. A box of necessities and comforts for the soldier to show that you care. Just send him gifts.
