Is it normal boyfriends ocd makes me nervous w/ daughter

I'm 23, my daughter is 5, and my boyfriend is 24. I got pregnant at a young age through stupid teenage mistakes, and as I'm already preparing myself for the downpour of hatred I will receive - Yes, I finished highschool. And yes, I'm going to college.

My boyfriend is beautiful with children, he's stepped up to the plate amazingly and is very supportive. But, he has a severe case of OCD. He's medicated and has been hospitalized twice for meltdowns.

He has his hiccups, the constant counting, the cleaning, the checking the doors and windows 4 times, 16 minutes apart, 56 minutes before turning off the kitchen light, turning the lights on and off 4 times, only opening the front door when the minutes are on a multiple of 4. He does everything in 4's. 2 weeks ago he stepped into traffic because his steps weren't at a multiple of 4, he overstep by 1, and had to do 3 more, almost costing him his life and endangering other drivers on the road.

With my daughter, he gets hung up on the hair brushing, pushes on swings, whether she keeps her socks up and even, how clean her shoes are, he even uses my makeup concealer to make her freckles even and a multiple of 4. Sometimes she gets tired of the swing, but he can not stop yet, so I have to step in and let him finish his swings with me instead.

I love him dearly, he's often a very intense man, but he's a very good man. He treats my daughter well, and he always means well, I just wish he wouldn't involve her in his illness. He also seems to be getting worse, the numbers mean more and more to him everyday.

It's okay if she gets involved. Hopefully you'll raise her well to understand the odds in life. After all, you are all one as a family.

I would try to see other doctors or physicians if it's getting worse. Medications aren't always the answer. Sometimes yoga or meditation works. I hope it all works out for you
