Is it normal body hair

Im a girl with long back and stomach hair. It gets longer around my belly button and my lower back. Its really noticeable and im embarrased to walk around in a bikini. The longest hair looks like its about a centimetre long. Do any other girls have this problem? Ive never seen any girl like this. How do i get rid of it?

Body hair is nothing to be ashamed of, if you don't like it, you can always get it removed. But as shade_ilmaendu said, it'd be way too much of pain to remove it all.

You're a mammal, correct? All mammals have hair, and believe it or not, all females have a light coating of hair all over their body.

Leave it alone, it'd be way too much of a pain to shave all that. Unless you bathed in Nair from the neck down... >.>

I'm blonde and I have hair under my belly button and lower back, but you can't see it because it's light

It is normal, every part of a humans body apart from soles of the feet and palms are covered in hair!

Nothing to be ashamed about, just wax it or shave it

Even though body hair is annoying, it's normal on everyone. Some people just have more or it shows up more because of darker hair. Try using nair body hair remover. It won't hurt like waxing would.

I get that, I have really fair skin and dark hair- I shave the stomach hair with a razor and just maintain it, the lower back hair is noticable cuz I'm so white... But nothing to extreme so I'd leave it. Back hair is much harder to take care of... So if ur not planning on constantly shaving and keeping it maintained, I wouldn't touch it- because it will only get hairier

Yes its normal, and honestly do you want to listen to a guy who shaves himself? He sounds like hes from jersey shore. Let me tell you, Im a girl with alot of body hair and honestly guys just dont care. I've had alot of wonderful (and damn sexy) boy friends who honestly didn't care. Don't wreck your brains over it. If it makes you really uncomfortable than bleach it. But its always going to be there, the best thing to do is to come to terms with it and understand that someone who isn't a pansy ass little boy is not going to care at all.

I'm a guy and my gf has tiny blonde hairs on her chest, behind her cheek and her back but it doesn't bother me one bit :) Boys don't mind if girls have a little hair just remember that your partner will notice it but won't say anything and it won't bother them :)

There's nothing wrong with that, but it if bothers you then you should wax or shave it.

  • o_O what's wrong with you guys? Wax/shave that and forget about it.

I'm a guy and I'm shaving, so there's no reason for you to looks like a lochness monster.

But.. the loch ness monster is allegedly a sea creature they tend to have smooth skin with no hair at all. It would have made more sense if you had said Yeti or Werewolf, or even cousin it (which is admitedly a more convoluted reference).

      • yup, you're right. I was so terrified by a mental image of a girl with LONG body hair that I couldn't think straight anymore. Even now I wake up screaming in terror... oh, woe is me.

Anyway, cousin it would do nicely!

I am a girl who has a good amount of body hair and I feel sad that my natural state would disgust you, is vulgar and inappropriate and unacceptable.

          I also feel ashamed.

          • hey we all gotta play with what God/genetics (whatever you believe) give us. There's nothing to be ashamed of. I got a fucking terrible teeth, really -it was a damn atrocity. Now, after a bunch of implants and oral surgeries i can be in one of those colgate commercials.

But it's not reason to say: "oh, my natural state of teeth would gross people out". Of course it would! lol. if you need to change something about your body -do it.

besides shaving won't cost you a fortune!

        • oh and loch ness is a big lake, not a sea.. but I undertand that you're terrified too, it's alright!

Turkish or Indian girls have this bad stereotype of being hairy. It's just that they have dark coloured body hair which is very visible. Western girls have lighter coloured hair which is not as visible. You can see this very well on the arms.

This might be a stupid suggestion because It's from a guys perspective. But what if you bleached the body hair.

Normal. I have three long hairs on my stomach and two on my back that I remove every 2 weeks. If you can't reach with a razor, use a hair removal cream.
