  • The tea leaves, when dried (fermented) and then heated, look fairly black.

I've noticed this too. I think that it's because the tea leaves have been fermented. The fermentation causes the leaves to look black on appearances but once brewed it causes the tea to become a orange, yeasty colour.

    • Have you ever actually seen black tea? I love tea and every time I make black tea or get it at restaurants it usually yellow or bright orange. Orange is not close enough to be considered black. If it was dark brown maybe but its too bright.
