Is it normal best friends drifting apart?

Me and my best friend have been best friends for years. We have mostly the same classes, and we have always been those friends that other people come to for advice. But recently, we have been drifting apart. It's not anyones fault in particular, but I think she has noticed too. Is this normal, like a phase? Or permanant?

    Drifting is normal and can sometimes be permanent. But if you don't want it to be than do something about it.
