Is it normal be extremely anxious after leaving your girlfriend?

I can spend an eternity with my girlfriend and not be bored of her, but saying goodbye is the problem. I could have just spent the whole day and the next morning with her and then after i go home I'm hit with a wave of anxiety, i can even feel it in my chest. Is this normal?

That depends. What thoughts do you think when you feel this way? Are you having second thoughts about your relationship? Do you feel like you want more time with her?
An alternative could be to talk to her about it.

It more like I really don't want to leave, like my insides are being ripped out when I do.

Well it sounds like it's related to "the good side" of it and for that, you should be happy. It would be awful if you on the other hand felt bad about the relationship itself.
Anyways, I think that you're just very attached and there's really nothing too bad with that. Spend as much time with her as possible and make that time count. To me, it sounds like you're terribly in love ^^ Just hang out more and make sure you don't get too pushy and you'll be just fine, trust me!

You may be experiencing insecurity. If you're afraid of what may happen to her while you're away, or if you're terrified she may be engaging in unsavory activities, you may need some behavioral therapy.

No I trust that she's faithful.
