Hmm... that's the first time I heard of something like that. I have asthma too, and I've never had a problem like that before. Are you sure it doesn't have something to do with allergies instead? I'm not saying your full of shit, but this is just the first time I'm hearing of such a thing.

I was curious to know if I was remembering it right (I was only about six). The first one in this list looks like a possible culprit:

To you and the OP, it might be worth printing this out. If you can minimise your attacks just by avoiding certain additives, that's got to be a win.

Learned something myself there too. I suffer pretty badly with hay fever and have always put it down to evil plants, as opposed to food additives.

Although, it's (seemingly) well known that tartrazine turned me into Bart Simpson as a kid.

I guess the message is that we should eat stuff that grows on trees as opposed to chemicals made in labs.

And you'll probably be fine with your period.

When I was a kid, I had a friend who was asthmatic and, although he could eat strawberries, if he had strawberry-flavoured things, he'd have an attack.

I think you're going to have to be one of those people who read food labels really carefully. Which is no bad thing, as it happens.
