Is it normal as a muslim to not want to fast ramadan ?

I am a muslim and I hate to fast ramdan , I always wanted to be a Christian , I don’t get why God wants us to starve our self for more than 10 hours for a whole month just to feel his blessings and to feel with the poor , there are people who do that without fasting with having to starve their selves ! , and it’s also it’s not like those who don’t fast can drink or eat infront of people , like the gym , the office , no we have to starve ourselves and get so thirsty in the heat , and when we come back home we can drink /eat !, A whole month of doing so, that’s a long time ! .is it normal to not want to fast Ramadan ?

    just do it...
and fasting as a muslim doesnt only restrict eating and drinking, it restricts masturbating and sinful stuff like that too..
i dont know who you grew up around taking faith so lightly, but you should probably do a lot more research before making such a big conversion decision like that..

You must not get lost in symbols (Ramadan). Ramadan is just a ritual for a 6000 year old people who have lost the straight path.

Do not be a Christian either. You do not need strict ways if you are on the straight path with your Lord. Long ago we didn't need a book to tell us how to be in Godhood, it was our nature.

But I do understand your pain. Being a Muslim is strict, but that is what is needed in the 6000th year. But we are in the 7000th year and a change will come soon.

You are forced to starve yourself for days at a time. I could see where that could frustrate anyone. Though I have sometimes done this to regulate my digestive system. You are probably not having any such problems. I would be frustrated if I couldn't eat for days at a time either if I was hungry and I don't understand why people have to starve to prove themselves to a deity either. I had a muslim friend who complained to me since she was so hungry but couldn't eat. I felt so bad for her and was grateful I was not born into that religion.

He also wants you you to mutilate and rape kids, but all you care about is not eating for a day???

God isn't real. Muhammad made up all those rules to get people to reinforce their beliefs every day. Basically, it's self-brainwashing.

I think you should do a bit more research into Islam. Isnt it in Ramadan that you feel te mist grateful to God who has just given you food, out of luck. There are content images of how people are starving around the world and we are fortunate enough to have a huge meal waiting for us at the end of a hard day. Ramadan is a month for us as people to become closer to God through worship and by being more appreciative and hopefully to develop good habits for the entire year. Everyone loses their path and Ramadan allows you to get back on track. Fasting Ramadan is also one of the five pillars of Islam and it is completely necessary you fast. But without the appropriate intention which you have clearly displayed, I don't know what you are achieving. I recommend you go speak to someone who knows Islam well and ask them of the significance of Ramadan and other holy acts of Islam, such as Salat and Hajj. good luck

  • It's part of being a muslim. Just remember it's for your own good.

Suck it up or find a new religion, or a lack of one.

My muslim friends think it is a trial too and they generally have a sense of humour about it, which allows non-muslims to joke about it too.

But they do it out of faith and to respect and consider people who have little food, and I - in turn - respect them for that.

In your case, if Islam isn't your chosen pathway then you do need to make some difficult choices, particularly in how your friends and family are going to feel about this rejection.

It's your choice to express yourself within your religion in a manner that is comfortable.

Normal. I'm Catholic and I don't like to fast during Lent.
