Is it normal 4 a dad 2 have his daughter sit with him while he bathes?

(Sorry about the 4 and 2. I had to stay within the character limitations.)Okay, when I was really young (probably between 2 and 5 or so) my dad frequently used to have me sit on the toilet and talk to him while he bathed. (He always took quick baths in cold, shallow water to conserve.) I know this because I had a flashback last night while watching my boyfriend take a quick, shallow bath. It was intense and I can't believe I had forgotten all those times sitting with him, as my memory from early childhood is pretty strong. I don't think that he had any kind of sinister intentions, but I'm not sure if this is a normal thing. I know it's normal for a dad to bathe a very young daughter (I mean, that's his kid) but to have her just sit with him while he bathes? Seems strange to me, but I don't know. Maybe families do this?

    idk, it not uncommon for parents to bathe with there young children in other cultures, to each there own. i mean really, not everyone is in to moloesting kid. grow up ^^^^^

    yea, he probably just wanted to keep an eye on you cause you were young. That would explain why he bathed so quickly

      I didn't even think about that. I should have added that my mom was a stay-at-home mom. :/ Still, it's possible that she was at the grocery. I wouldn't remember a mundane detail like that.

        yea, maybe your mom told him to watch you because she was busy and needed a break from you. i doubt your dad would be doing anything perverted with your mom around

          I doubt he‘d do anything perverted at all... its perfectly normal (as said above) to need to keep an eye on you, but he also needed a bath [possibly it tended to get thrust upon him at last minute (no dirty pun intended)]

      I'm not a troll, and I don't think he meant it that way. So I don't know what pedophile (sp check) you're referring to, but I think you're confused. I simply asked if this was a normal/typical thing.

    Not normal. At first, I thought that maybe he was scared of bathing alone but why then would he need you when he could have an adult like your mom sit with him?

    The fact that you regressed this does make it seem like something inappropriate was going on. Like the others said, he could have been masturbating. Were you always clothed when this occurred? Did your mom know about this?

    I used to sit in the bathroom as my mom was in the shower. We'd talk alot. About school, dinner, things wed have to do, places we nedded to go etc.

    I think it's very abnormal as well.

    First, men don't usually take baths.
    Only little boys.

    All the men I know take showers and that's usually the way it is.

    If your father's intent was making sure you weren't getting into trouble then he'd probably would of taken showers and not baths because they're much quicker and he couldn't see you nor you him behind a shower curtain.

    When he was in his bath were you able to see his hands or no?

    Where was your mother and why would he always or often take baths when she's not around or without someone else able to watch you?

    Like other posters have said maybe he was jerking it.

    Was he looking at you while you both were talking and he bathing?
    if he was he was probably jerking it.

    It's possible you've blocked out other memories just like you did these, then when something triggers them you remember.

    I don't think that it's so odd. I used to shower with my little girl until she was two and I only stopped because her mom said that she was getting to an age where it wasn't right for her to see me naked. There was never anything sexual about it - I personally would have all pedophiles castrated if I could! 5 years old really is a bit too late to stop this, but if he never did anything to harm, why worry? I would say 2 years old is old enough to understand the differences between boys and girls so these things should stop at least by then.
