I think most people who aren't in perfect relationships feel this way at some point. It's actually possible to fall in love with someone while you love someone else. I know, I've done it.

I did what I thought was right at the time and broke up with the person I was with. I did what I had to do to stay sane, they were best friends and we all hung out a lot.

I had a brief fling with the "other guy" and though I was totally in love with him it never worked out between us.

Do I sometimes think I was wrong to break off the first relationship? yes, but most of the time I know it ended up being for the best.

It's happened to a few other people I know as well. figure out why your are feeling the way you are. see if there is something you can do to fix it. decide if you want to stay or go

No, Why are you wasting the other persons time and giving him false hopes. I had the same experience with someone else, i was on the bad end of it. It just pisses me off that the other person doesn't have the dignity of telling them that they feel for someone else and they let it keep going. Do him a favor and tell him as soon as possible. Thwe longer it goes the more pain there will be.
