Is it normal...

Well I'm pretty sure it is.
I am addicted to Crystal Meth.
But I have been clean for about 4 months now [yay me].
But I found myself getting addicted to other little things in my life.
Smoking more cigarettes, coffee, alcohol etc.
Anybody have mutual feelings about this?
Oh, and you don't have to be addicted to THAT, even if its something else you may be addicted to but are trying to quit.

Hey addiction is a cunning thing. I too ave gone through phases. Four years mainly marijuana, four years mainly meth, and when I tried to stay off it I would switch back to marijuana and started drinking heavily. Now I am clean from all drugs but can still "cross-addict" or substitute to things like relationships, sex, food (whether too much, too little, or simply obsessive over what i eat), exercise and thought patterns.

I do go to NA meetings which have helped me a lot. For me there is that void and the more I try to fill it with substances and chemicals the bigger it gets.

    Take care of yourself.

  • Well, I heard that people who smoke and do some drugs find it very hard to quit. It's good that you've kept clean for 4 months, I don't think most people can do that even if they tried. Good luck.

Keep up the good work on staying clean! Very impressive.

It's normal to go from one addiction to another. Like it is so common for recovered anorexics to become bulimic. The underlying issues are still there.

But it's got to be more than just psychological.

My Dear friend, I was in the same boat as you at one time. I had a fearsome sexual addiction that endangered my children but like you I replaced one addictive substance with another, And it ultimately led to a final diccesion where I had to choose between my children, or the male prostitutes I had an intimiate connection with, You will step back and really evaluate what you want in life and even if you want to continure your life I suggest you stay off the meth. Try something non-addictive and harmless like Marijuana

    Sincerely Dr. Learnerd I.A. Rachel

Typical problem of those coming clean of a hard drug. Please see your doctor or whoever is aiding you, because there is practically nothing we can suggest unless you have a will of steel (but if you had a will of steel, none of this would be a problem, eh?).

Good for you about the being clean for 4 months thing.
Its normal to be addicted to other things. All of the things you listed are addicting and you can't stop that fact.

I know exactlly how you feel.. I have done almost every drug there is and everytime I quit one I am doing another you know. I try all the time to quit but I can't seem to find a way too. it is hard and now I am on "indeffant probation" so I must quit or get locked up for a verrry long time.. sometimes haveing things like that makes you stop more. if you really want to quit for good and not subisitute all the time then go to NA AA or Rehab trust me.. sometimes the littlest things can help.

This is just my point of view but is there a void are you trying to fill? Obviously the one left from the absence of meth but is there one at the heart of it all? I've never been addicted to drugs so what the fuck do I know but maybe as you reach for that cigarette or drink, you could think about what you're really craving.

Wow. Some people have some...um...what's the word...

    Oh. PROBLEMS.

    ROFL.

I'm not a slut, and I would never fuck my family.
Plus my dad is dead, but thank you anyways.
On another note, I don't have a cock.
    Sorry for the disappointment.
I'm a real person with real problems.
If you're going to joke around about being gay and incest, go for it lol.
    Kind of um...weird though. =/

sounds like you have self control issues.....lots of people call themselves addicted to something when in fact they just need some self control.

I'm addicted to the little things in life, too. Your cock, for instance, is immeasurably arousing.
