Forgiveness is the the way to spiritual freedom, but easier said than done sometimes! Especially when it's a trust issue with someone that was supposed to keep you safe when you were a child. Yes, parents make mistakes, but I can definitely understand why you would be so resentful since she is not owning up to it. I am going through something similar. I try to keep in mind that my mom was and is doing the best she could and is capable of, but it's hard. She's probably denying the truth as a way of coping with what happened. Inside, I'm sure she feels a lot of guilt and pain about it.

Accidents happen. Parents are human beings and make mistakes, just like you and I. They are not perfect. One day, when you are a parent (unless you alreay are), you will make mistakes as well. A sign of maturity is the ability to forgive and let go what is not important. Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of injuring someone else; you are the one who gets burned.

Was the hot water on the back of a herd of cows? Lesson: don't pull cattle. Moo.
