Is it mean that i think cyberbullying is bullshit?

I feel bad for the people that have killed themselves, but personally I think that cyberbullying is dumb. You can always delete things, and most of the time the people saying mean stuff are just internet trolls. There's also something called a "Block button". You just have to ignore rude people.Words are just words, at the end of the day it doesn't matter. Otto Frank (Anne Frank's father) lost both his daughters, friends, his wife, and went through so much torture, but in the end he didn't kill himself; he stayed strong. Sorry if I've offended anyone, but I think it's time to focus on bigger problems.

I don't think you know what a troll is.

Rude is one thing, but when people make repeated attempts to make someone feel stupid, unwelcome or worthless, it's not on.

It can be easy to overstep the line and I've regretted things I've said before. This site has lost people because people ganged up on them.

    Emotional assault is uncool.

PS. You are an idiot and I hate your stupid fucking face. In fact no one here likes you so why don't you go to yahoo answers where you belong.

I think the fact that it hurts people is all the proof you need that it isn't bullshit. Whether you think it's a good reason to be hurt or not is neither here nor there.

Your opinion is bullshit. Telling people who are being cyber-bullied to just use the block button is just like telling people who are being real-life bullied to put their fingers in their ears and pretend it isn't happening i.e. it's a fucking useless non-solution.

Bullying, cyber or otherwise, isn't about the temporary pain caused by mean words. It's about the feeling that everyone hates you, that you're alone, that you have few or no friends, that you're ostracized. Ignoring it and shutting it out doesn't get rid of that feeling, because you know that hate is still there even if you can't see it. If anything that makes it worse, not seeing what you know is still there.

Well tbh its not like that because physical bullying is much more different as u cannot ignore it whereas cyber bullying u can press the block button. I have many people calling me shit over the internet but do i care no, i either use the block button or just ignore it plain and simple. flame me all you want but all im saying is plain and simple facts.

I think it's sad that you don't consider suicide a problem. A person's reason for choosing it does not matter. It isn't for you to decide what is and is not a valid feeling over words that are said.

To disregard it as bullshit is insulting and insensitive. As well as judgemental. You are being inconsiderate.

Have an opinion, great. And it was rude of me to tell you to go away, sorry, I'm easily cranked off these days. But I will never disregard someone elses feelings just because I don't understand the experience. You may not be a bully, but pretending like it doesn't exist or it's no big deal just because it never happened to you or a loved one is nearly as bad.

I respect your opinions, but actually someone very close to me commited suicide. It wasn't something said over a computer though; his whole life was shit, and I understand why some people kill themselves.

While I do think things like FACEBOOK DEPRESSION are stupid. I hate how people will dedicate there whole life to face book and will become sad since there friends smiling. These are the same type of people who would rather be on the computer than pay attention to their own family/children. These people are idiots. I have a Facebook and I do not cry since over it.

I agree, in that, some people are afraid of words,
    Words that speak the truth.

Ironic, that many of these same individuals,
Frequently use words which have no real meaning,
    And often use words incorrectly.

That is just about what I would expect a cyberbully to say. You know the kind of guy who would tell someone to commit suicide and the provide them with a link of different ways to do it. What kind of person does that?

      @suck on this @anti-hero
I know this might be late, but lately I have started pondering about this topic and have been searching the internet for opinion and if I could learn anything from them. I have come to a conclusion right now, feel free to try change that, cyberbullying is hypothetically avoidable and it would be easy to understand why it would be ridiculed.
However, to be able to avoid it you need to be mentally strong to forget and ignore all the threats and evil intent directed at you. Yes you can block it, but as a person we want to know what are our defects so that we can fix them and so they open the message and read something that is not something to correct the person but to only make them feel worse. This could be a reason why victims end up reading their messages. Yes, that was the incorrect thing to do, but to be able to ignore all of that is a hard thing to do. We should not ridicule those who fall into that trap but help them to do better. This is why there are campaigns to do so, to spread the information, to make people better.
Reading your replies to each other was appalling. You clearly are bullying. You unnecessarily insult each other, is it too hard to just get your message on, without insulting?

To be honest I do agree with you. Lots of websites proved help to those being cyberbullied like reporting, blocking and deleting horrible comments without anyone knowing.even if you don't want to do that, support can be found online and if it gets too much no one is stopping you from leaving that website.I feel that we should be putting more effort into things like physical bullying as there is not much you can do to prevent in happening in the first places and in some cases it can cause serious, possibly life threatening, damage.

I don't think it's bullshit. By saying it's bullshit, is the equivalent to saying bullying is justified and that people are making a fuss over it for no reason. Is bullying justified?

I don't think you know the difference between a little rude and plain mean. Ignoring someone is a little rude (if there's not a legit reason to), but insulting someone hurts more than you may think. Yes it's easy to delete and block someone but that doesn't make their words hurt any less, it just stops it before it goes farther.

The internet seems to be a place for many people to get the recognition and voice they would be otherwise lacking in outside society. Some of these people are especially vulnerable to attack because they are so concerned with their online identity and how they are received by other users. This makes them very fragile meaning cyber bullying is dangerous, disrespectful and inconsiderate.

While people should not invest so much money into the internet bullying is wrong. Also some things like harassment, endangerment, and death threats as well as stolen information is a serious crime. Some people track people and kidnap children over the internet. Some people make death threats and stalk over the internet. Some people have made websites to attack or saying how they will attack another person. This type of thing can put the person within harms way. Some people make stuff to steal information on the computer.

Not everyone has the power or mentality to use the block button. I've actually had to remind people it's there. I hear people talk about facebook drama all the time. I don't see any of it, cause people who piss me off get blocked. Plain and simple. But just because you and I know how to walk away from a situation, doesn't mean everyone does. I don't think either of us have been obsessivly pursued by someone we've tried to keep out of our internet lives either. We could just shut off our computers, but uhh.. I speak for most of the 1st worlds population when I say.. no. And most of these "Cyber bullies" are people they know. People from school and such. It's not some random troll for across the world, it's that asshole who stole your lunch money, made you starve all day, and felt the need to go home, hop on the computer and tell you how useless you are. It can be hard to put it into perspective when you haven't been part of it first hand, but it's definitely bigger than what you put in your post there. Otherwise, people wouldn't be dying.
