Is it harder to raise boys or girls

Having talked to parents of both sexes I've heard that boys are often more prone to arguments, more stubborn learning curves and disobedience,

I've heard girls are more prone to grudges, being manipulative towards the parent of the opposite sex and colder teenage years.

Thing is the things above that people told me just sounds like stereotypical points I would expect to hear, has anyone else experienced this and if you've raised both what do you feel was harder?

Here's what I think: it's harder for males to raise girls and it's harder for females to raise boys. But all in all, both are hard to raise. Anyone can become a parent but being a good parent is what takes all the effort.

Yes. And since there are way more single mothers than single fathers - guess where all these innumerable fucked up men come from.

It's hard to raise both if you're a bad parent or lack the proper skills

It probably depends more on you than it does the kids. Boys and girls are going to face different challenges growing up, because other people will treat them differently. It depends which of their challenges you are best suited to.

Over the years, I've babysat 29 children (21 boys 8 girls) nannied for 21(14 boys 7 girls) and there have been other kids I've babysat for one night only so I won't count them.

I've done work experience in three preschooler (3-5yr olds) rooms and two babies (0-2yr olds) rooms, helped run a weekly community playgroup as part of my study for six months, done a reading assistance and development workshop with second grade (7-8yr olds), asisted with a summer holiday camp for 8-12 year olds and been a Sunday School assistant.

I find boys easier, overall, but it really depends on the kids.

And I'm aware this isn't all raising kids, but nannying is essentially co raising the kids.

This will depend on the age of the child. Although, all kids are different. Some are just easier overall. But generally, boys are more troublesome when they are todlers compared to females. And female adolescence is a nightmare. They can be equally difficult and equally easy, but age does make a difference.

  • I would say boys are for the simple reason of us not paying much attention on how our boys are at young ages and how we should raise them while acknowledging the differences they have compared to girls.

  • I dont think there is a correct answer because the childs situation, experiences and personality is always going to be different.

Boys are disciplined more often than girls even in well to do families. This might make boys appear easier to raise. Just a thought.

Agree that bad parenting and single parent households break the kid.
