My guy friend and I have been friends for a couple years now. Occasionally, we get into silly little play fights and we'll insult each other lightly, but we don't really mean it. He goes all out with his best friend, he'll call him names, just straight up insult him and everything, but he's way softer on me. It's actually kind of cute, and I know that he kind of likes me already. So does it sound like flirting, or is he just trying to take it easier on me because I'm a girl?

    What does it matter either way? You already said you know he likes you.

      I just wanted a little reassurance, seeing that he's a shy guy and might not even know that he's doing it. Plus, I'm not too keen myself on what exactly constitutes as flirting, so I might even do it myself and not realize that I do it.

    That's flirting...atleast in my opinion when girls get physical whether they play fight or not are looking for a reason to touch or hold him.
