Is it bad that i still live at home?

I recently moved with my family to another state. I'm 24.
I was going to college in my local town but There were NO
jobs anywhere. So I moved with my family and I go to school, finishing what I can Online while I work.

But I have not dated in 2 years, Got out of a bad relationship. But every time I want to date or even think about it I feel like a Loser because I "live at home". But I'm killing myself each day to make my life better.

It's not Like I just sit around, They don't pay for anything for me. I work at 2am-whenever then I'm doing school work. Both Fulltime. I just feel less attractive because of it.

Don't worry about it 43

  • I think it is perfectly acceptable in your situation. You don't have anything to be ashamed of. I hope things get better for you very soon. :)

I don't know about your country, but in Belgium a lot of people at the age of 24 live at home.

You work hard, how does that make you a loser? You're not the only one in this kind of situation. I can't imagine other college students thinking you're a loser because of this.

If you want more independence, you can move out. But make sure to finish your studies first. A degree isn't a guarantee to a good job, but if you haven't got one it's near impossible to find anything decent.

The way things are economically, it's becoming more and more common not only for people to live with their parents for longer but, on occasion, to move back in with them after having an independent life.

I personally couldn't do that but my friend did. His only problem with it was not having somewhere to take dates so he just didn't date for a year.

I also live with my parents, well my mother only, and its fine, i've never been uncomfortable with the idea. and flats are very expensive where i live so i don't see the point unless i am getting married or committed to someone, but right now its not the case so yea its wasting money for nothing.

It is unfortunately very normal. If you live in the states I will tell you to go to Texas since that is the only place with work right now. It is probably not your fault you can not find work. I feel very bad for you and I know many of us are in the same situation and I am truly sorry for you. I would suggest opening your own business or selling things online because you have little chance of finding regular work. Also do not go to Nevada they are out of work too. Vegas is laying off the whores. So you know that is a bad sign when they are firing legal hookers.

26 and recently moved back with my parents. I have a steady job and consider myself doing well. Just don't see any point wasting money on my own place when I can help my parents and save cash for travelling and things I enjoy. If anyone thinks I'm a loser, it's their problem. So don't worry about it.

I've heard worse than 24! Try 34, now I think that's a bit too far.
People seem to be having money problems all over the world at the moment. These things sometimes have to be done.

Hey, you're actually trying. Lots of adults living at their parents are just lazy bums. Once you get college out of the way and score a stable job you'll be your own free man.

My parents are actually encouraging me to stay with them a bit longer and save up whatever money I earn so that I'll be better off when I do move out.

I'm thinking of moving back home because my parents are getting old and I have to move out of the house I'm in in three months and I haven't yet find another place to go. In my country most children leave home when they marry. My brother left home at 29!!!!!!!!!!

So many people are out of work! There are 30 somethings and even 40 somethings that had to move back home to stay under a roof. It's so normal now and why do you feel weird staying at home? You're 24, not 34. You should be confident and date! My ex was 29 with a bachelors degree but was staying home because he couldn't find a job and he didn't have any problem finding me, haha. Relax, it'll be fine. :)

  • No. My ex lived with his mom till he was 26. He was working and going to college.

If you were someone like my brother, however, I'd say it was because he lives off my mom and just screws around.
